Metamorphosis

In Part Three of Fahrenheit 451, Bradbury shows the changes that have occurred in both Montag and Faber in a week's time.  How have both Montag and Faber changed?  Did you expect them both to change or did one change surprise you more?  Explain.  (The deadline to post a response is midnight, February 3, 2014.)

I believe Montag has changed the most. At first he is burning books and he could care less what is inside them. Then he meets Clarisse and she asks him if he is happy, and this makes him really think about his life and how it can be better. He thinks it could be inside a book, so he decides to steal some books and read them. The problem is he does not understand what the book is saying. Montag decides to see Faber for help. Anyway the main thing that changed in Montag I would say would be his personality and he know has emotions, but most of all he is thinking. Faber described himself as a coward, but later on he faces it and stands up for what he believes in and he is not a coward anymore. After reading part one I expected Montag to change at least a little bit. When we got to Faber I really did not expect him to change, but he did. He finally stood up for what he believed in.

Both Montag and Faber have changed in the way of how they feel books should be preserved. They feel that the world needs the knowledge that the books hold, and they are now willing to risk everything to be able to save them. I did not think that Faber would change. Throughout his conversation with Montag, he keeps bringing up that he is a coward. I honestly thought Faber was going to back out of the plan.
