Which way do you go, mister?

I think he makes a bad decision because 1 he should have not lied and 2: if he would not have been able to rip the paper up he would have been in a bad situation!!!!!

I think he made the right decision because he died for what he believed in, and he was felt guilt for ruining his future for him and his wife.
