Prove it to me!

Henry David Thoreau once said, "No way of thinking or doing, however ancient, can be trusted without proof.” Now that you have completed 5 days of research, what will you prove/justify/defend in your paper? Why have you selected this as your thesis? (The deadline to post a response to this question is midnight, Monday, November 12, 2012.)

Since I have done my research, I have decided that I will prove the my topic, the reproductive rights movement, has changed the way society approaches sex. I have chosen to prove this because since the birth of this particular branch of women's rights, our society has slowly viewed sex differently, and it is dramatically different then the view it had in the 1930s, before any type of hormonal birth control or pregnancy termination was legal to Americans.

I already knew what I was going to prove before we went in the library. All of the information that I found provides statistics about divorce rates and the psychologocial and emotional problems that a child will have as a result of divorce. With half of all marriages ending in divorce, I will prove that divorce negatively affects a child's life. There are many statistics and psychological studies that I will use in my paper!

I already had in mind what I was going to prove before we started the research. I will prove that even though there are animal rights, these rights are neglected. I have selected this because I love animals and wish they had a voice that everyone would listen to. There are many ways people neglect animal rights, and I want to prove that to anyone reading this research paper.

Before research, I had a pretty good idea what I wanted to prove in my paper and now I have information to back it up. Marie Antoinette sparks my interest as a historical figure and she is just so glamorous and naive that I realized that wanted to prove Marie Antoinette was not what the Revolutionaries made her out to be. I want to prove that she was just caught up in the events spinning out control around her.

After researching, I have found out why the death penalty in the United States should be abolished. Not only is it very inconsistent, but it also costs lots of money and some of the execution methods can be ruled unconstitutional in violation of the Fourteenth Amendment. Through various court verdicts, I have proof that the death penalty should not be used.

In my research I plan to prove just how many organs are useful or actually being used when it comes to organ donations an transplants. Throughout my research in the library I came across many sources saying that not all of the organs up for donation are used but yet there is still a shortage. Why are we not using all the organs available if there is still a shortage of organs needed? That is what I plan to prove.

Now that I have done my research, i will prove that dyslexia can be re mediated and coped with. I have chosen this because there are multiple sources that say that dyslexia can be revered.

I already had an idea of what I was going to prove with my research paper but I am now sure that I am proving that solar energy is a much better power source than fossil fuels. I have selected this as my thesis because I have multiple facts and sources to strongly back it up.
