"That dog ain't good to nobody..."

We have discussed the friendship shared by George and Lennie. Today, we read about a different type of friendship--Candy and his dog. In what ways is the friendship parallel to the one shared by George and Lennie? ( This blog closes at midnight on Thursday, January 19, 2012.)

The friendship between George and Lennie is very similar to the friendship shared between Candy and his dog. In both friendships, the two friends depend on one another. Candy raised his dog ever since she was a pup, and George and Lennie knew each other for a long time. In these two friendships, they both depend on the other person(or dog) to function. They need one another.

The relationship of "lennie and george", and "candy and his dog" are similiar because in both pairs they rely upon one another. They have been there for each other for a long time .They are also similiar because without one another they would be alone. These are just a few of the ways that they are similar.
