Early American Literature and History
Share something you have recently learned about the literature and historical background of early America. Read the posts prior to your and make sure you don't repeat something. (The post closes at midnight September 5th)
Over the past couple of days studying literature and the background of America, I have learned that Chris Columbus never came to North America, but died believing it.However, I also learned that Chris Columbus had written a letter to his people back home about the places he has discovered.He tried convincing them that America was a much better place over all.I have also learned tons about the Puritans; which was a religious group, and was called the Puritans because they wanted to "purify" the church of England.Overall, I have learned that America has an enormous amount of history that I have never heard about, and I am eager to learn more!
