We get 9-10 cases like this a night...
In the beginning of Fahrenheit 451, Montag's wife Mildred has overdosed on sleeping pills and two technicians "clean her blood" and leave. What is Bradbury saying about this society in this scene through their actions and lack of emotions? Do you think our society is approaching this same view? Why? (The deadline to post is midnight Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014.)
Bradbury is saying that this society is so fast paced and reliant on technology that it is an everyday thing that when someone overdoses, they just clean the person out, and go on. I think our society is approaching the same view, just not as bad. For example, suicide is just a common every day occurrence, but instead of going about our business that night, it takes us a day or two.
Bradbury is saying that the world has become lazy and that instead of being professionals people are relying on machines instead of doing work themselves.
