It was a pleasure to...

We have talked about many themes in Fahrenheit 451.  Which theme--man can change, man must think for himself, the problem of too much technology, or the need for self-analyze--did you find most clearly stated through the book?  Explain.  (The deadline to post a response is midnight Thursday, May 17, 2012.)

I think the most important theme in the novel is man must think for himself. Montag just did what society told him to do and be. He lost all his thought process until Clarisse. Then he was able to think and feel and be the man he wanted to. He had to learn to think. Clarisse and Faber helped him learn how to think and it made him be a better man. Mildred never learned to think and in the end of the book, she is lost but Montag continues and will help society.
