I think this was comsidered prime writing of the time because it was a life story of someone that was far from perfect just trying to survive and reach their goals to be successful. The theme is that no one is perfect. Be the best you can be but don't try to be the best someone else can be. Franklin's purpose was to show people that if you try hard enough you can do anything but be considerate of your flaws. Franklin wanted to perfect his memory and give everything a place but after so long he realized it just wasn't going to happen. It can relate to us today because everyone wants to strive to be the best but no one is perfect. This should teack us that we should be the best that we can be and not strive just to be perfect. -JTN B1
I believe this is the prime writing of the time because it's about a poor man trying to achieve goals, like most of the rags-to-riches stories of this time, but this one is true and talks of religious values. Just believing in being something won't make you it; you have to start on one goal and work towards it. Franklin was to show that you can start from nothing and make it to something by working on goals. To people today, it shows that you can't start on one thing and then go to the next thing; you have to continue on the first or you won't finish.

I believe Franklin's Autobiography was the masterpiece of the period because it relates to everyone's life. It displays the concept of rags to riches. This autobiography explains how he goes from having nothing moving state to state searching for employment. Franklin's purpose of the autobiography was to explain this rags to riches story and to explain his virtues on moral perfection. Franklin's moral virtues still apply to current day life. Also, his rags to riches still applies today.
I believe that Franklin's Autobiography was the masterpiece of the time because most people could easily relate to it. It talks about many struggles in his life, especially how he was poor and had to make a living on his own, but later became a rich and successful man. While his life story was inspiring on its own, Franklin also wrote about his fight for moral perfection. He realized that, while perfection was impossible due to humans' weakness due to inattention, it was still possible to be morally perfect if one was to follow his list of 13 virtues. Franklin wrote his autobiography to show that there are ways that people can better themselves and even one of the poorest boys in America can grow up to be one of the richest men through hard work and determination, which coincidentally continues to happen in the present.
I believe Benjamin Franklin's Autobiography was the masterpiece of the time period because the people could view it as a life tool. Franklin's theme and purpose for this passage was to show the people that you can become what you have always dreamed of. This belief falls back on "Rags to Riches." Us today can still relate to the passage by determining what we want to step foot on and if we dig down deep to find our way through, we will somehow wind up where we wanted to be. It all depends on our determination and hard-working ethics, just as Franklin put forth.
I believe that Benjamin Franklin's Autobiography was considered the prime writing of the time because it's very relatable to the average person. I believe the theme and the purpose of this writing were to show that rags to riches are always possible, even for the great Benjamin Franklin. It can relate to us today with examples such as Elvis Presley and believe it or not Justin Bieber. Bieber Fever would have never come to life without a little hard work and dedication just like Benjamin Franklin.
I think thats the reason Franklin's Autobiography is considered the masterpiece of thr Colonial Literature period because Benjamin inspires and informs readers to persue their dreams and ideas. He teaches us of how to learn from your mistakes and that anyone can do anything if they discipline themselves to do better and acheive their goals. Even today, Franklin's Autobiography teaches us to, ast Theodore Roosevelt said "keep your eyes on the stars but keep your feet on the ground." This meaning thats we should always dream big but never forget where we came from. From rags to riches, Benjamin Franklin inspies all of us to excel and be something in life.
I think Pranklin's Autobiography is considered the prime writing of the time because it taught people that they can always improve on their virtues. The theme is to strive to improve on your virtues no matter how tough the outlook may appear. Franklin's purpose is to inform others of his hard work and how it can pay off later in life. It can relate to us today by so many seeking perfection but learning that only so much is possible.

I believe Benjamin Franklin's Autobiography was the prime writing of the time because of how inspiring it was. Many people during the time had to deal with similar struggles of making a life for themselves. Franklin's purpose and also his these was to inspire those who read it and to touch their lifes to show them that they could make their lives as successful as possible. He showed that determinations and a strong work ethic was all it took no matter where they came from.
I think that Ben Franklin's autobiography is considered the masterpiece of the time because it was a rags to riches story. Ben's story described a true American dream come true. He began as a lowly apprentice and became a forefather of the land. It was honest and real. I think that the people of America had a hard life and that this inspired them and gave them hope. His purpose was to tell his story. Franklin's story can encourage people today to follow their dreams. Since it took Ben a bunch of time and hard work to achieve his goals the autobiography's proves life is a journey not a destination!
What separated Benjamin Franklin's writing from much of the writing of that time and made it "prime," is that Franklin was displayed in his book as a normal person trying to make something of himself in the world. The theme of his masterpiece is his journey to moral perfection and he decided to share it with the world in order to encourage others to join in his quest. Franklin's writing served as an inspiration to the people in his time the world over. This remains a great piece of writing because it can be applied to situations in the modern world, for one can never achieve perfection, but should always strive for it.

I believe that Ben Franklin's Autobiography is the "prime" piece of literature of the period because it is the first of many "American Dream" tales to occur in America. Ben Franklin started out with nothing. He was poor and he worked hard and became successful. This story is a "prime" piece of literature because most people can relate to it. Millions of immigrants came to America to pursue "the American Dream" and it all started with Ben Franklin.
