I got you and you got me...

We have just met George Milton and Lennie Small, the main characters in Of Mice and Men. These men are very different, but have a friendship.  Why do you think Steinbeck has made these men foils, character opposites?  What keeps them together?  (The deadline to post a comment to this blog question is midnight, Friday, November 14, 2014.)

I think they Stay together to take care of each other. They have been together for a long time an they probably just have not separated. There characters are different because it shows that even though people may differ from one another they can still be friends

These two characters are like brothers that don't get along but they truly love each other, and it shows that true friends will be there for one another no matter how opposite they are

I think Steinbeck made their characters different to show even though George and Lennie are opposites they still get along in some way and they stick together because they have maybe grown up together or known each other for a while.

I think Steinbeck made them opposite because it shows that during the depression, everyone was affected. It shows two men, who are total opposites, met and became friends because both were struggling. I think they are staying together because they are the only stability in each other lives.
